2022: The Events that Shaped Web3

For this week’s newsletter, @0xPhillan created a timeline of key events that shaped the Web3 industry in 2022. Web3 entered a period of touch challenges, with events such as the Terra/Luna collapse, the 3AC insolvency, the events surrounding Celsius and finally, the FTX implosion all dragging Web3 into what many people called a “crypto winter”.

While these events did spell challenges for the industry as a whole, mainstream adoption of Web3 and blockchain technology did not slow down: brands rolled out their own NFTs, and an increasing number of countries welcomed blockchain and Web3 technologies.
